The benefit of having Black Sakura Shrimp in the tank is they clean up all the algae and waste, dead and decomposing materials, helping you give a neat and clean tank.

Habitat: It is believed that this species of shrimp are the native of Taiwan. They are freshwater shrimps that are peaceful and non-aggressive in nature. Their tankmates can live with them without any hassle. They are safe to live with all types of plants as well as water creatures. Being an excellent scavenger, Black Sakura Shrimps are a good choice if you are looking for a shrimp for your tank.

Water Parameters: Like any other water animal, Black Sakura Shrimp also requires precise water parameters for the best coloration. When they are provided with temperature, pH, and hardness within the range, they thrive well, longer, and live happily and healthily. Also, they prefer tanks that are equipped with live plants. Black Sakura Shrimps feel comfortable when there are willow mosses, baby tears, etc.

  • Temperature: 65° to 80° F
  • pH: 6.4 to 7.8
  • Hardness: 4 – 14 kH

Care guidelines: Apart from the right water and habitat conditions, it is important to feed the right things to the shrimp. Black Sakura Shrimps do not have any precise food requirements as they are scavenger in nature and love to munch on the decomposing matter and algae. You have to feed them very little and only quality dry feed or eatable vegetables like zucchini, etc.. Overfeeding often leads to cloudy and unclear water, which most of the time becomes the reason for their death. If the tank is old, and there are enough algae and dead matter, do not feed anything to the shrimp.
