Echinodorus Rubin

Often, Echinodorus Rubin is referred to as the Red Sword Plant as it displays similar red hues, especially when grown under optimal conditions. It is easy to care for and maintain; at the same time, it is considered a beginner-friendly plant. For those who want to add a unique splash of color to their freshwater tanks, this is the ultimate option. It is an excellent choice for mid to background positions in aquascapes. Its tall, broad leaves and vibrant coloration make it a striking focal point in aquariums.

Appearance: The bold red and pink leaves of Echinodorus Rubin makes it one of the popular species of Echinodorus genus. It features broad and elongated leaves that are usually lance-shaped. They can grow as long as 50 cm and as wide as 12 cm. The growth pattern is rosette wherein the leaves radiate from a central point. The leaves color also depend upon the growing conditions, especially the lighting. Deep red and pink hues can be obtained under high light.

Hard/soft Plant: Echinodorus Rubin is classified as a moderately hardy plant. While it is not as demanding as some other aquatic plants, it does require specific conditions to thrive, particularly in terms of lighting, substrate, and nutrient availability.

Ideal water temperature: The best temperature for Echinodorus Rubin to thrive is between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. This temperature range supports the plant’s growth, enhances its color, and helps maintain the general health of the plant.

Lighting condition: To bring out its beautiful red and pink hues, Echinodorus Rubin requires moderate to high lighting.
